More Progress!

Good week so far, did my 825 meter swim in 23 minutes Tuesday, that felt great. Biked 15 miles this morning, have in 1 1/2 hours on the treadmill so far, and the eating is very clean. Saturday I have another session with my swim teacher, that is always fun and motivating. I am shopping for a used bike this week and will start going out for real rides in addition to the bike at the gym. Saw my name on the offical competitors list for the race and I realized how fast this thing is coming up! I really have to focus these next 6 weeks (and avoid injury). Made my hotel reservations yesterday, Glennwood Springs, here I come!

Last Week

Great week, hit 399, got my massage (thanks Jess!), lost two pounds, spent time learning about bikes, and got to spend some real good quality time with my daughter Kelly. I also swam and made my cutoff time!

The Swim

I have been concerned about the swimming distance and cut-off time for my upcoming triathlon. The most laps I have put togther in a row has been 20. I need to do 36 laps to equal the 825 meters of the tri. So this morning I was determined to do at least 20.
Upon reaching 20 laps I decided I could squeeze out two more for 22. Then I thought maybe I could make it to 25, then when I hit 25 I thought, what the heck, go for 30! Well I made 36 laps without stopping and my time was 27 minutes, just two minutes over the cutoff time!

I think I can do this! :-)

Almost There!

Lost three pounds - down to 402. I really want to get down to 399 and get that free massage! I'm back on the treadmill, foot still gets sore but Dr said to keep walking unless it gets too painful. I have plantar facisitus (or something like that). Inserts are on the way and have a nice pair of shoes. This morning 45 minutes on the treamill after a swim of 30 laps. After my last swim lesson a week ago, I have shaved off 7-8 seconds per lap! I still worrry about the cutoff time and that has me a bit stressed out. I have only 9 weeks to pull it together. I upped my swims to 4 days a wwek, sometimes 5. This afternoon it's an hour of back and triceps work, my favorites!
