I Named the Bike, I Ran Too!

Ok, first, I ran this morning! It was only for 3 minutes, slow (3.5 mph for 1 min, 3.8 mph for 1 min, then 4.1 mpf for 1 min) and I thought I was going to explode, but I ran! How freaking cool is that! I have a long, long way to go, but I am on the way! Pete is working running into my schedule in small doses and I am excited!

And, drum roll please . . . I named the bike! I know, I know, took long enough! I really wanted a name that does it justice. It was such a wonderful gift and blessing from my blogger friends. I wrestled with many names, some in Spanish and Indian (since it was in AZ where I got it) for blessing, gratefulness, etc. When I share the story, there's almost always a tear from the listener as they learn of the love shared from some very kind people (and of course I get all worked up over again LOL) So, I have kept it simple and the name will always remind me of the people who blessed me!

"Blogger" Yup, that's it! Not too original, but I like it!

“Some people come into our lives . . and leave footprints on our hearts and we are never, ever the same.”

Below in the pic are just a few of the bloggers who blessed me:
Meg, Momo, (moi), Andy, Carrie, Big J, Benny, Nytro, and Krista.

Missing from the pic are Commodore, Tri-dummy, IronShelly, I'm Able, Brent, IronWill, Bold, Bigun and Di, 21st CM, TriMama and Tac, Shane, Renae, Kim, Jenny, Chris, Laura, Lana, Dr Bubba, Hillary, Lauren, TryGreyhound, Donald and Tiffany, Wylee, and Molly. You all rock!

299 and Counting

299 days until Ironman Arizona, man it is going fast (well except when Pete is kicking my butt). Total training time last week: 15:52, weight loss: 0 Still at 373. Frustrating but I am going to believe this is just a mini-plateau.

This week is a recovery week, should be somewhere between 6.5 and 7 hours. I laugh to myself when people ask me how my training is going and I say "This week is a recovery week and I only have to work out about 7 or 8 hours!" They must think I'm psycho becasue they cannot imagine even doing that much exercise much less have that be an easy week! I tell people that a simple paradigm shift is all that is necessary to start working out. It's all how you view it, there is no magic, you just look at the same object or issue but you have just walked around to the other side and see it from a different view point. The object or issue hasn't changed, its our view that changes.

Mine certainly has. I am coming up on the three year anniversary of when I decided to change my life (read save my life). I didn't just jump to the other side and change my view, I inched my way around. I love it over hear. I'm not going back. And I am going to help as many people as I can to have their paradigm shift. Have a great week and next week I WILL break into the 360s!

Very Good - Very Bad

The good is Diane had her last surgery yesterday and is doing great. Becca is nursing her and taking good care of her.

Bad, I fell off the wagon last night (no, I think jumped off the wagon is a better description). I ate 4 hot dog buns (2 with PB and J, 2 with cheese), 1/2 bag spinach chips, handful chocolate chips, a granola bar and 2/3 of a bag of popcorn. Then I drank a 2-liter bottle of Diet Pepsi. Argh! Bad!

This morning's two-hour cardio probably did not make much of a dent in last night's calorie binge. But, I am back on for today!

Great Week!

Weight - 373, lost 4 pounds. 9250 yds in the pool, would have been 9700 but my goggles snapped in half during a session.

Total training time? 17 hours and 6 minutes. I think if you subtract out the recovery intervals in the pool I'm still around 16 hours so that is great!

That's it for now, got to go get my weight training in! :-)

Only 321 days till Ironman? Where did the time go?

Yes that's right, the days are slipping by very quickly! Seems like only yesterday we were signing up for this crazy Ironman thing!

Where has the time gone? It will come up fast and then we will be there in transition, getting marked and wondering "What the Hell am I doing here?" Well, we will be having fun and becoming Iron because (Uh Brandy, please pay attention here) we took our training seriously! Right Brandy? :-)

Ok, so I just finished a recovery week, but it was still 9 hours and 23 minutes! (Dang, those upcoming base building weeks are going to be tough!) Cool! So my IM AZ peeps, where are you in this journey? Have you started? Do you have a plan laid out? Or, are you still in the Ben and Jerry's? I on the other hand have 14+ hours scheduled next week! MADNESS! MADNESS I SAY!

Hope you all have a great week
