IM CDA

First, congrats to all the IM racers! (that includes you Tea, you made it there and took a valiant shot at it!)

Got into Idaho Friday afternoon in time to meet several bloggers. Had the pleasure of staying with SW Trigal (Debi) and husband Hartly, Brian and Misty, Maria and Mark. Saturday was the expo and the volunteer meeting, then chilling out before the race. Race day I was up at 2:45 am and at the volunteer area at 4:30 (did body marking). Even got to mark BigUn.
After that, watched the swim start then hung with bloggers and sherpas through out the day and night. Had a fantastic time!

Photos below, just got in from the road so no narratives, I need a nap!

Onward

to both CDA and getting back to training. Very rough month, started out great with 14.5 hours training in a week, then had an ear infection, kidney stone issue (still going on) and just emotionally drained with all the personal stuff. Missed almost a week of training. But with friends like you all, I am back on track (thanks Pamela and Mary!). AND, I'm going to watch my friends do Ironman in CDA and meet new ones!

And of course Kelly rocked her tri!

See you on the other side of CDA with lots of pics!

Race!

Kelly and I just got back from packet pickup, she is doing her second tri tomorrow! She is excited and so am I (to say the least!)

I was reading 21 CM's blog and I really must quote her. She was getting ready to go on a trip and was thinking about the workouts she would miss,

"Then I started printing out the "stuff" for the trip - boarding pass and reservations for hotel and car. I took a look at the hotel ameneties and almost peed my pants with joy - FITNESS CENTER!!! LAP POOL!!! Seriously - my heart soared like an eagle. Now I'm going to check out 'Map my Run' and find a route in the area where I'm staying. "This is why when someone does their first triathlon I always think, and sometimes say - "Welcome to the crackhouse!". Couldn't have said it better myself!

Kelly is Rocking!

My daughter Kelly has been training for her second triathlon on June 14. She has been a little worried about the 200 yard swim, she has only done 100s and really wants to do the 200 without stopping. So tonight in the pool, I told her to try and swim 8 lengths without stopping and do freestyle only. So, she did! Then she got pumped up and knocked out 300 without stopping! I was so proud of her. Then she amazed both of us and did 450 without stopping! How cool is that! Then a few more 50s and she ended with 1050 yards and was very excited! Proud dad here!
