Shoulder

I went through periods this summer when my left shoulder was sore. I'd ice it, take ibuprofen, and do my rotator cuff exercises. It was pretty sore about a week and a half before SOMA, but by the time of the race, it was fine. It was also fine after the race for about a week and a half. I haven't swam since then and only did shoulders lightly in one workout. But my shoulder is jacked up!

I went to the Dr yesterday and she was able to push my arm around easily when I was trying to resist, which has never happened before. I go in this afternoon for an MRI and will have the results Tuesday. It's one thing after another, seems like that anyway. If I have to have surgery, I will still be able to walk and bike all winter.

If she tells me I can't swim anymore I've already decided I will learn how to swim with one arm if I have too! (But I don't think that will be an issue).

I'm so sorry about the shoulder, but I'm sure you'll be ok. Even one armed swimming, you'd probably still beat me.

You and your family are always in our thoughts. We're always here for you if you need anything.

I hope for the best in all the issues that you are dealing with.

Concerning your shoulder, you may want to look at your swim technique. I had shoulder problems until I mastered the high elbow pull technique, which removed much of the pressure off my shoulder and improved my swimming a great deal.

I hope they find out what's going on with your shoulder and that it's something easy to fix. You and your family will be in my prayers, whatever the circumstances are. You've been an inspiration to me, too.

Hang in there with the family issues. Re: the shoulder issue. Look on the bright side, if the offending arm is that bad you can have it removed and have a big hook put in it’s place, Arggg me hardy!

Big D - I don't know what you are going through, but I wish you the best...and good luck with the shoulder...I'm sure, unfortunately, you'll have more than that injury to deal with on your journey - good thing you are a strong-willed MAN!

A bionic arm - wouldn't that be cool - as long as it's waterproof you'll be golden!

Take care!

My wife and I were really frustrated one day. Many things were on our minds and so many people were starting to get on our nerves. We were going to lunch with some friends one day and had to let out some steam. I told Nicole that on the count of three we were going to scream really loud. (Screaming in the car).

1....2....3....Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Things changed a little after that day. Not only was it worth a good laugh, it allowed some steam to be let loose.

You and your family our in our thoughts and prayers. Hang in there buddy, and enjoy the winter months!!

Being injured sucks. I hope the scan proves more positive then negative.

As Wes says "The body will heal, and so will the spirit if you hang tuff..."
